Imara Africa Safaris

We arranged our safari with Lewis and Imara Africa via WhatsApp where Lewis sent me lots of links for various places, helped me choose dates, pick up and drop off places etc. We decided on a pick up from our hotel in Nairobi where all of the staff met us with the private vehicle and our driver James. We drove to Amboseli National Park where we stayed for 1 night at the Elewana Tortilis Camp with food and drink included. The drive into the park itself was amazing and we saw lots of animals. We then had another safari drive later in the afternoon. The following morning we drove to Tsavo West and Salt Lick Lodge where we were staying for 2 nights and again a game drive on the way in and another one in the afternoon. On the second day we had a full day game drive in Tsavo East and the following morning James drove us to Mombasa where we were flying to Zanzibar. James was an amazing driver and we saw all of the big 5 while we were there. He made sure we had plenty of water in the truck and got us to each place safely. Lewis of course made sure everything was arranged in advance so checking in was smooth and our accommodation was amazing! I will be planning another safari for the Masai Mara and I have no hesitation in using Imara Africa Safaris.

Luis, Patrick, and Ian were absolutely flawless during our time with them. They made us feel like family from the beginning, and were always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate any needs or questions we may have had. We were able to see so many animals in the two parks we visited, and when it was allowed, we had opportunities to get quite close to the animals to just be able to admire them and get amazing photos. We LOVED our experience with Imara Africa tour group. I contacted them looking for a specific date and location and they worked with me to create a great itinerary! I always received a professional email response within a day. Tour day was WONDERFUL! We had a private driver and guide to take us out to a spice farm, then into Stone Town. The guide walked with us through Stone town and was knowledgeable about the area and history. He walked us back to our hotel after to be sure we didn't get lost.

Lewis is phenomenal at putting together a memorable experience with direct, personal attention. His lightning-fast responsiveness to every question and concern from the initial info request to setting up side excursions for us for after our safari WHILE we were on the safari was beyond anything we've ever experienced or expected. This was a ZERO stress adventure as he took care of every possible detail from the best lodges, food and wildlife reserves and excursions to setting us up with the best guide in all of Kenya, Simon. Our rapport quickly went from guide/client to family. There aren't enough words to capture how his knowledge, experience and personality impacted our trip and our lives. There may be plenty of safari guides in Kenya. But Simon is the only one we will ever use from here forward. You should too. You won't be sorry. You'll thank me later. Some people think they can book a safari, a la carte, on their own and save money. I can tell you. Unless you're from Kenya and personally have relationships with all the lodges, parks, guides, and the million other moving parts that make for an amazing trip, you'll quickly find it would've been cheaper and save you a ton of time and anguish by using a reputable agency like Imara Africa Safaris. These folks know the business and will make your bucket list trip exceed your expectations. Looking forward to booking a Kilimanjaro climb with them in the coming year.

Despite being a relatively new business, they are a verified and trustworthy company. Our custom trip started in the Masai Mara, followed by multi-day safaris in Nakuru and Naivasha. While our excursion in Zanzibar wasn’t our favorite and it was with a third-party guide, not affiliated with Imara Africa Safaris, the Kenya portion of the trip was nothing short of wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to choose Imara Africa Safaris for future adventures, and I'm grateful for the unforgettable memories they helped create.

The experience was out of this world. I would recommend Imara Africa Safaris anytime anyday!! This is the best I have had so far! And will be my choice going forward.
