We just came back from our second safari trip with James of Wild Portraits Safari. We had the greatest possible experience during our 9 day-trip from Amboseli (Kenya), to Tarangine, Ngorongoro, Serengeti (Tanzania) and then to the Mara in Kenya. The full trip was well organized and included so many highlights: beautiful sights, the landscapes, the wildlife, James' ability to find the quiet spots with magnificent viewing, great accommodations, breakfast in the Mara, horseback riding amongst buffalo, hyena and giraffes, and of course James' great company, his care for his guests and his drive to make the full experience perfect. We are already planning our next visit and will certainly travel with James again. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a fantastic vacation.

A memorable and thrilling experience in Kenya I had the opportunity to take an 8-day trip to Kenya with Wild Portraits Safaris, and I must say it was one of the best decisions of my life. The trip was well-organized, comfortable, and full of amazing wildlife encounters. I visited three different national parks: Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara, and each one had its own unique charm and beauty. Amboseli National Park The first stop of the trip was Amboseli National Park, where I witnessed the majestic sight of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. The park is home to hundreds of elephants, as well as zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and many other animals. I was lucky enough to see a large herd of elephants crossing the road right in front of our vehicle, and it was a breathtaking moment. The park also has a variety of birds, such as flamingos, pelicans, and storks, that add color and life to the landscape. Lake Nakuru National Park The second stop of the trip was Lake Nakuru National Park, which is famous for its pink flamingos that cover the lake's shore. The park also has a rich diversity of wildlife, including rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and hyenas. I was thrilled to see a rare sighting of a black rhino and white rhinos, which is one of the most endangered animals in the world. Masai Mara National Reserve The last stop of the trip was Masai Mara National Reserve, which is the ultimate destination for any wildlife lover. The reserve is part of the Serengeti ecosystem, and hosts the annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, who cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. The reserve is also the best place to see the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. I was fortunate enough to see all of them, and even witnessed a dramatic chase between lions and buffalos. The reserve also has a rich cultural heritage, as it is the home of the Masai people, who are known for their traditional lifestyle and colorful attire. James, organized everything meticulously, from the accommodation, transportation, meals, and activities. He was always attentive, friendly, and professional, and made sure that I had everything I needed. Surat, another guide, was knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about wildlife. Both of them knew where to find the best sightings, and how to position the vehicle for the best photography. They also shared interesting facts and stories about the animals and the places we visited. I highly recommend Wild Portraits Safaris to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable and thrilling experience in Kenya. They are the best in the business, and they will make your dreams come true.

Had the experience of a lifetime thanks to Wild Portraits Safaris! Their passionate guide took us on a wonderful 7-day safari in Masai Mara/Navaisha/Amboseli parks (could have stay longer!). From the start, the communication was smooth and quick, they discussed with us our wishes and improved the plan using their expertise by explaining us how to optimized the traveling time and hotels to enjoy most of our time doing game drives. All our hotels were strategically proposed to get quicker in the parks for sunrise game drives (the bests!) and stay longer until sunset. They are passionated about wildlife and will provide you great insights on animals, nature, culture all along the journey with a fantastic storytelling. They look up for the best spots & sceneries while always respecting animals and their own space, and ensure you don’t rush from one animal to another (unlike most others companies) but rather spend quality time to experience animals in their own habitat (hunting, playing time, mothering). Wild Portraits Safari only selects guides with a passion for photography that would bring with them their own professional camera to capture any moments and share pictures afterwards with you, definitely a major plus!! We highly recommend this fantastic human and nature experience thanks to friendly, relaxed, reliable, insightful staff. You can really feel like you are enjoying the experience with your guide, contributing to making the safari from great to exceptional!

I’ve joined James for 9 days in Kenia in May 2023 and it was amazing. James is excellent in every way. His knowledge about animals, nature and the country was brilliant and he could tell us everything we wanted to know (and more). I got my best pictures because of his photographic tips and skills to spot the animals. The cars is perfect for safaris, well equipped and in very good shape. For the rest after a long day on gamedrives we had very good camps. The tents were clean, very well equipped, the staff was very helpful and the food was great. All in all the safari was superb and perfect. I’m looking forward to meet James again for my next Safari in Kenia. Thanks a lot James!

We spent 3 days in Maasai Mara National Park with James, and we had an incredible adventure. James is passionate and very knowledgeable; he always takes the time to explain and shares his knowledge about the wildlife. None of our questions were left without answers. Patient, James also provided us advises and tips for the rest of our adventure in Kenya. We highly recommend James and Wild Portrait Safaris!
