The capital city of Australia's Northern Territory, Darwin is the land which is the only tropical capital of Australia. It feels distant from the country, and that's the best way to explore Darwin. Darwin offers you Balinese vibes across the Timor Sea, and it is definitely closer to Bali. The food in Darwin is usually tasted near coastline or you find yourself on the sunset dinner cruise at Strokes Hill Wharf. Darwin is the best place to explore the remote Aboriginal artwork for the community. With some excellent wildlife and open-air markets, tourism in Darwin means an eclectic mix of more locals than tourists. Shop for crocodile accessories, hand-crafted skincare, Australian pearls and fine fabrics. With so much to witness, one can never get bored here, as is evident from the Darwin travel guide below.
How To Reach

To reach this tropical destination of Australia, the best way is to book a flight. If you're travelling to multiple destinations in Australia, then you can also book a flight, bus or train from Adelaide or major Australian capitals.
By Air:
India offers connecting flights from major Indian cities to Darwin. One can also book a flight after reaching Australia as it takes lesser hours, and the journey is the fastest. Darwin International Airport is 8 km away from city centre.
By Road:
If you want to explore the scenic route, then the bus journey is for you to take! It takes over 47 hours to reach Darwin from Adelaide on the Greyhound Australia buses. Road journey can also be explored by booking a car, but we wouldn't recommend it because it is quite a hectic journey.
By Train:
Southern Rail operates a train called 'The Ghan' which covers the distance of 2979 km in two nights. This train offers comfortable seating arrangements, but you can book your seat in sleeper cabin or lounge chair for a luxury experience. We'd recommend making a booking as early as possible.

Darwin is a paradox city experiencing two distinct seasons from November to April and May to October. The Darwin seasons are the 'wet' and the 'dry' season, and the best time to visit Darwin is from May to October in the 'dry' season.
Wet Season (November to April):
High humidity, rainfalls, heavy storms, cyclones and lightning are the characteristics of Darwin's wet season, which starts from November and ends in April. The average humidity is more than 80% with temperature ranging from 25°C to 33°C on an average. This season should be avoided in Darwin as the risk of cyclones is high.
Dry Season (May to October):
Experience the best of Darwin in the dry season, with temperature ranging from 21.6 to 31.8°C and humidity level around 60% to 65%. You can experience the warm, sunny days and cooler nights in Darwin during this season. Be sure to protect yourself from harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen and carrying sunglasses and a hat.
