Like most of France, summers mark the most popular time for vacationing tourists in Dijon. The average temperature lows are about 12⁰C in the night and highs of 24⁰C during the daytime. Occasional rainfall might occur, but the overall weather remains warm and sunny. It is a great time to indulge in sunbathing and enjoying the clear blue skies of Dijon while out on a sightseeing adventure. July is the hottest month of the season and August is the coolest; expect to pay higher rates for hotels during this season.

Autumn is another great time to visit Dijon; in fact, some would prefer it to the summers. September and October are pleasantly warm without the heat and mugginess of summers. The average temperature during the day is around 20⁰C and during the night is 6⁰C. Autumns are wine harvesting season, which also contributes towards the influx of visitors during this time. Expect moderate rainfall and also peak rates during September and early October.

Winters are rarely seen as a good time to vacation in Dijon. The temperature often reaches freezing levels and occasional snowfall may also occur. January is the coldest month of the year with chances of the temperature dipping to negative digits, while the highest temperature experienced is around 7⁰C. The amount of sunshine received is minimal as well. However, the Noël Week celebrated from December 22nd to January 6th is an extremely busy time in the city due to the arrival of tourists visiting for Christmas celebrations. The hotel rates tend to shoot up during this time and the city gets quite crowded as well.

As the chilly winters recede, the spring season sets in with gradually rising temperatures and an average of 15⁰C during the daytime and 5⁰C during the night. While rainfall is quite common, the overall weather is considerably pleasant to plan a short trip during this season; especially during the late spring months. Commercial rates are also quite low in the spring season.
