Anchorage hosts the major international airport of Alaska and receives flights from all over the world, including countries from Asia and Europe. From India, there are only connecting flights to Alaska, with stopovers in the States. You can either do that or fly to the USA or Canada and then book a cruise ride right up to Alaska. Most Indian tourists prefer to travel to Alaska by water from Canada.

The Visa procedure for Alaska is the same as that of America, because Alaska is a part of this country.

As explained below, the most preferred as well as scenic way to travel to Alaska is by cruise. The State Ferry system connect Alaska and Pacific Northwest. You can find many one-way cruises leaving Canada’s Vancouver or British Columbia, taking the route through Southeast Alaska, South-central and docking in Anchorage. Alaska Marine Highway System ferries also have regular vessels sailing from Bellingham, Whittier and Wash for domestic travel.

You can take an adventurous road trip to Alaska from Canada or British Columbia. It is a 1300 mile journey on an average, depending on which city of Canada you depart from. But the roads are clearly well laid out, highways super smooth and the scenery on the way just breathtaking. Trains are not plying between Canada and Alaska, however, domestic travel in Alaska does include trains from city to city.
