How To Reach Badami

Planning A Trip To Badami? Here are some guidelines on how to reach Badami

Badami is a town in the Bagalkot district of northern Karnataka. The small historical town, once the capital of the Chalukya Kings, nestles snugly in a ravine between rugged sandstone hills at an elevation of 1,922 ft. The pristine holy river called Agasthya Tirtha surrounds Badami on three sides. Badami has a rich heritage of beautiful rock cut temples and caves that are something to see.

Badami is about 511 km from the capital city of Bengaluru, 30km from Bagalkot and about 128 km from Bijapur. The town does not have an airport, but is well connected to most major cities by rail or road. The easiest way to reach Badami would be to fly to Bengaluru, which has a domestic and International flight route and then take a train to Badami. The other option would be to travel by train straight to Badami, which is connected to some major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
