County Kerry has its own small regional international airport; Kerry Airport is situated at Farranfore between Killarney and Tralee. The airport mainly operates flights to and from Dublin, Frankfurt in Germany, Luton and Stansted in England, Alicante in Spain and Faro in Portugal. It is about a 20-minute drive away from Killarney; however, the airport is not well connected to public transport services. It is advisable for travellers to make prior arrangements like booking a private cab in advance from the airport.
The Cork International Airport is located just about an hour away, which has better connections to destinations across Europe. Shannon Airport is located a little farther away but is more accessible from various destinations across not just Europe, but the rest of the world. Travellers coming in via long-distance flights may benefit more from flying into either Cork or Shannon airports. From here, travellers can opt to take a direct bus or cab to County Kerry. Kerry Airport also has direct connections to Cork Airport.
