How To Reach La Rochelle

Planning A Trip To La Rochelle? Here are some guidelines on how to reach La Rochelle

One of France’s most significant port cities between the 14th and 17th-centuries, La Rochelle is the capital of the Charente-Maritime department and is located on the Bay of Biscay in the Atlantic Ocean. Popularly referred to as ‘La Ville Blanche’ or the ‘White City’, La Rochelle is a town that from a distance, appears to glow in the sun because of the radiant limestone façade of its buildings.

It is a city that long upheld its Huguenot Protestant identity and refused to lay down its arms without a fighting chance. It is a city that maintains its age-old heritage and displays it with panache in its ancient towers, narrow cobblestone streets and timeless half-timbered houses that define La Rochelle’s landscape. It is a city that has made remarkable progress in its economic growth, evidence of which can be seen in its many faces. It is a city that warrants at least one trip in a lifetime; whether you’re new to the world of travel or a weathered voyager. Here are some of the most convenient ways to reach La Rochelle.
