Due to Mainpat being a hill station, it is not directly accessible by air. Therefore the closest airport that you have to go to reach Mainpat is the Birsa Munda Aiport located in the city of Ranchi in Jharkhand. This airport is located at a distance of 299.5 km from the hill station. Since Jharkhand is a different state, you will have to take a bus or a cab to reach Mainpat from there, which will take approximately 8 hours. The airport is quite posh and has all amenities like eateries, lounges, duty free shopping etc. Although this is the closest airport, it is not located within the state. The nearest airport within the state of Chhattisgarh is Swami Vivekananda International Airport in Raipur; this airport is located at a distance of 381 km from Mainpat and takes approximately 9 hours to reach the hill station. You can take either of these airports and you can easily find transportation from the airport until the hill station.
