Ranthambore is one among the many beautiful destinations in Rajasthan. With its mystical jungles and its majestic tigers, it’s one of the most visited places in the region. With the number of people visiting the place forever increasing, reaching Ranthambore is quite an easy affair. Given that the tourists consist of both foreign and Indian citizens; Ranthambore is well connected with most parts of the country and the world. One can reach the place by air, rail or road. The best way to reach Ranthambore though, is to fly to the Jaipur International Airport and take a taxi from there.

By Air

While Ranthambore does not have its own airport, it is quite close to the Jaipur International Airport. Located at about 150 odd kilometres, the Jaipur airport is 3 and half hours away. While the airport is well connected to most major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Lucknow, it is also connected to International destinations like Muscat, Bangkok, Malaysia and so on. Ranthambore is also close to the Kota Airport located 146 km away. While the Jaipur airport is an international airport, the one in Kota is only for domestic services. On arriving at either of the airports, visitors have access to cab services that will take them to their destinations.

Being one of the more sensitive zones in the region, Ranthambore itself does not have a railhead. But the closest railhead lies in Sawai Madhopur. The Sawai Madhopur Railway Station is around 15 km from Ranthambore. The station is one of the important stops in the Delhi-Mumbai line. With many long distance trains passing through this station, it is easy to get here from different parts of the country. With trains running from Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur almost every day, travelling to Ranthambore via train is very easy. The train journeys here can be rather scenic and one can witness the breath-taking landscape of Rajasthan. There are taxi services at the station that tourists can access upon arrival.

By Road

Travelling to Ranthambore by road can be one of the most exciting journeys. Adorned by the Aravali and the Vindhya ranges and the deciduous forests, a ride here can be quite rewarding. Ranthambore is well connected to most major cities via road and can be easily reached from Delhi, Jaipur and Kota. Although direct buses are hard to find, there are private services that operate here. Visitors can also take taxis from most major cities to reach Ranthambore.

 

Getting around: While there are no buses that operate inside Ranthambore, there are taxi services available to get around the place. There are jeeps that operate inside the national park and will take visitors on safari rides.
