There are a few private airlines providing passenger services from the neighbouring country, India. Sri Lankan Airlines is the national carrier of the country. Mihin Lanka, a low-cost Sri Lankan airline, operates Central Asian and Indian routes.

By Road: The Central bus stand in Colombo serves as a connectivity hub, providing, both private and public buses for intercity travel. Also, a network of public buses is run by the Sri Lanka Transport Board. The common mode of transport inside the city are radio and private taxis, hired two-wheelers and three wheeler tuk tuks.

 

By Train: Sri Lanka Railways operates all rail services. Colombo is the connective place of three main railway lines of the north, the east and the south. Trains are a relatively inexpensive mode of travel, offering the country's magnificent landscape view, though are pretty crowded and usually delayed.
