The garden gets its name from the Kings of Kodagu who preferred to watch the sun rise from the same spot that today attracts hoards of tourists from all around. Madikeri Fort

Visit Madikeri Fort when in Coorg. It was built in the 17th century and has withstood the test of time over the years. It has also decided the fates of several rulers and emperors back in its glory days. Today, one can find an Anglican Church, a museum, and a prison inside this massive fort. The palace within which has been rebuilt and renovated by various rulers is today functional as the deputy commissioners’ office.
Namdroling Monastery

Named by the Dalai Lama, the Namdroling Monastery houses nearly 5000 monks and nuns in the present day. It has visitors from across the world. It is a three story temple and is open for visitors to attend prayers and meditation sessions. However, getting an entry is slightly tricky since you need to have a permit which takes around three to four months. But it sure is worth the time and effort.
Burude Falls

Burude waterfall is a divine creation of nature. The waterfall starts from a rivulet called Illimane and is located close to Siddapur. It is advisable to visit the falls in early summer.
