Like elsewhere in the country, the city can be visited all throughout the year. Although there are four major seasons here, weather in Auckland is never too unpleasant for an enjoyable trip. Summer though is considered as the peak tourist season with plenty of sunshine and activities round the clock. Plenty of adventure activities like hiking, trekking, cycling, etc also happen around this time, given the long days. The sea water is also warm, giving visitors an opportunity to explore the beautiful coastline here. Kayaking, snorkelling and taking long cruises are at full swing during the summers. One of the biggest disadvantages though is that summer is also the most crowded time of the year which means contending with scores of other people.
