The temperatures remain almost constant at around 21°C during the day and can go down to about 14°C during nights. The city receives a very good amount of sunshine making it ideal for outdoor explorations. Schools re-open and the holiday season in the country is almost at a close, making it nice and quiet. It is also easy to find cheap accommodations. With one of the most predictable weather patterns and the least busy times, autumn is easily the best time to visit the city.

Along with rains, there are strong winds throughout the season. While cities in the Southern Island receive snow, winter is a time for ski and other winter sports which attract a lot of crowds. Wellington, on the other hand, does not get snow-fall. Temperatures range from 8°C to 11°C during the days and can go down during the nights. Winters in Wellington are considered the low season. But if you don’t mind the rain, winters can make for a romantic trip. Costs of all services come down, making it one of the cheapest times to visit the city.
