Chittorgarh is a Rajasthani city, one that can be deemed as old as time, inherited its charm from the Mauryans to the Rajputs and right down to the Mewadis. The name Chittor reverberates and reminds one of Rani Padmini, as well as the love-sick Krishna-devotee Meera bai, making it a very coveted tourist destination. Hence Chittorgarh sees some unexpected showers through the monsoon months. There is some greenery and the temperature might hold off from its high points during the rain. But post showers, the heat is unbearable. Even so, this is an okay time to visit.

Winter is the time of best weather, amazing festivals and loads of Melas. With the temperture down to single digits, you can enjoy your time exploring the sites, eating your weight in Mewadi delicacies and working an appetite hiking up forts. The local festivals like Diwali, Holi and Gangaur mean even more high spirits. So choose winter for the best of everything. You may need some light woollen clothes for early mornings and evenings, but the afternoons and nice and crisp.
