Danang Weather And Best Time To Visit Danang

Planning A Trip To Danang? Here's a snapshot of Danang weather and the best time to visit Danang

Danang is the fourth largest city in Vietnam and a relatively new tourist hotspot in Asia. The tropical climate and closeness to the South China Sea and UNESCO listed beachtowns like Hoi An have seen its popularity rise in recent years. The two dominant seasons in Danang are the Dry Season, normally lasting from the end of May to early September and the Monsoon, which generally lasts from November to March.

The best time to visit Danang is from February to May, when rainfall is very low and the humidity levels decrease. However, this is also the most hectic period for visitors to explore Danang. In the monsoon season, rainfall occurs in short spurts and humidity levels are at their peak. Flooding and typhoons are extremely rare here. Many visitors also visit Danang during the monsoon period due to lower expenses and crowds, even though the weather is not at its best.

This is is the best period of the year for domestic and international tourists. Owing to its location on the coast the warm weather doesn't reach scorching levels. Rainfall levels decrease dramtically and visbility levels are at their peak. The temperature during this period reaches up to a maximum of 24 to 35°C in the month of May, which is considered to be the hottest month of the year. However, with climate change, the summer season makes Danang experience the ocassional heatwave, where the climate can become blistering. The city can get quite crowded with traffic levels also going up. Visitors looking for a more peaceful time might be better suited to visiting during the second half of the year.

The dry season gives way to the season of monsoon. The sub-tropical climate sees temperatures rising to an average of 18 to 31°C. Rainfall comes and goes in short bursts, so visitors are recommended to stay well clad with an umbrella at all times. Otherwise this season is relatively pleasant and is considered to be the tourist off-season. This can actually work in favour of tourists looking to travel on a lighter budget to experience the sights and sounds of Danang. The city does have a history of flooding and typhoons but on very rare ocassions.
