Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, situated to the southern part of the city has direct flight connections with most of Europe and the entire United Kingdom. There are approx. 8 ways of reaching Liverpool from New Delhi. The cheapest option is to fly and then make the onward journey by train at an overall estimated fare of INR 26,000-46,000 in approx. 15 ½ hours. Flight operators like KLM, Oman Air, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Air India & Virgin Atlantic on the Delhi-Manchester route.

 

While, the cheapest option available is to fly to Manchester and then take a train to the Liverpool Lime Street Station, the fastest way and recommended option is to fly to Birmingham and then on arrival at Birmingham International Airport, catch a train to the Liverpool Lime Street, all in a travel time of 14hrs and 20 minutes roughly and estimated cost of INR 21,000-64,000.

Served by two separate rail networks, the local rail network in Liverpool is managed by Mersey Rail which provides train services through Merseyside and beyond, while the National Rail network has a connection with all of England’s major cities and towns. Lime Street Station is Liverpool’s mainline station which is also a terminal for different rail lines into the city. Being one of the busiest and wide-ranging networks in the railways, Liverpool’s local railways has 3 major lines: the Northern Line, the City Line and the Wirral Line.

 

On arrival at Birmingham International Airport, you can book a West Midlands train that takes about an hour and 50 minutes at an estimated fare of INR 2,800-3,900 and has a train every hour for Lime Street Station. If your flight is to Manchester Airport, however, then on arrival, you can catch the Northern Rail train that takes an hour and 26 minutes at an approx. fare of INR 1,000-1,500 with an hourly frequency to reach Liverpool’s Lime Street Station.

Liverpool has direct road links with most of England and there are several local bus services within and around the city, that are managed by Mersey travel and run by different companies including Stagecoach and Arriva. The local buses ply from the Queen Sq. Bus Stn near the Lime Street Station for travel into the east and north segments of the city, while Liverpool One Bus St. caters to the east & south segments.

 

If you fly to the Liverpool Airport from New Delhi, then on arrival, it is best to catch a bus from Speke, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which takes about 12 minutes to reach Garston, Liverpool South Parkway and then make the onward journey by train to Liverpool Lime Street Station.
