The average temperature for the season is 10° with a chance of 6 to 8 days of rain per month. The beautiful countryside starts getting colourful with fresh blooms.

Summer is the most popular time to visit Lausanne for its warm weather and tons of activities. It is also the most crowded time of the year. The average temperature of the season is 20°C with 7 to 9 days of rain per month. This is the perfect weather to take a tip in the lake, go boating and enjoy the summer festivities. Lodging may get expensive during this time, so planning well in advance should help.
Popular events that you must attend during the summer season are the Chocolate Festival in June, the many music festivals that are held throughout the summer, Lavaux Passion a festival dedicated to the wine of the region, the Festival de la Terre (also known as Earth Festival) and many more.

September has temperatures similar to the summer, but by November it can get quite chilly and can feel even more chilly due to the wind and humidity. The average temperature for the season is 11°C and it can rain for 6 to 7 days per month. The colours of fall make the countryside quite picturesque.
Festivals to attend this season are Label Suisse, which is held in September promoting local swiss artists, Lausanne Underground Film Festival in October, Lausanne Lumières (festival of lights) and the 22e Festival Bach both celebrated in November

As the temperature drops to negative, many tourists avoid travelling during this time, unless it is exactly the kind of adventure you are looking for! There aren't too many festivals this season except for Christmas and New Year which are celebrated with a lot of gusto.
