Madikeri is a hill ststaion town that is the capital of the Kodagu district of Southwestern Karnataka. It has a tropical highland climate, with the seasons classified into summer, monsoon and winter. Although Madikeri weather is cool, breezy and misty throughout the year, monsoon is considered the off-season because of its showers. The best time to visit Madikeri would be summer and winter, when the climate is just right for a hassle-free tourism.
Summer (March-May)

Summer is the best season to visit Madikeri, as the hottest days go upto about 24-29°C, which might not be too hot considering the high altitude. The hill station is pleasing and mistily warm otherwise, and it’s a good time for seeing the sights. Sunrise and sunset provide a respite from the day’s heat, with the minimum temperature averaging to about 16°C. Check out the beautiful summer blossoms over the hillsides at this time of the year.
Monsoon (June-October)

With the southwest monsoon rains, the weather turns nice by June, preparing for a full fledged monsoon by July. Monsoon is off season in Madikeri as the seasonal rains provide a dampener to travel and sightseeing. If you really don’t mind the rains, set out to explore the town with an umbrella or raincoat handy. The temperature ranges from a high of 25°C to a low of 15°C.

Winters are cold in the hill station, with the coldest month of January measuring a minimum temperature of about 11°C. Days are pleasantly cool, but nights can be very cold. Again, nothing should stop you from visiting Madikeri in winter if you are armed with warm woollens. Average temperature goes upto 25°C.
