The region covered by the National Chambal Sanctuary experiences sub tropical weather just like any other region in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Summers are very hot and quite humid with temperatures ranging from average of 45°C in the day to 30°C in the evenings and night. This is not the best time to visit the resort as it is stuffy and the heat is scorching; the nights get cooler but still remain warm throughout. Also, there is not a lot of wildlife activity at this time and hence, summers are not recommended to visit. But if you do visit at that time, make sure you carry light clothes to beat the heat.

National Chambal Sanctuary receives a good amount of rain during the monsoon season, calming down the area after the brutal heat waves in the summer. Temperatures during this time range from an average of 32°C in the day to 27°C in the night, making it a little pleasant with cool winds as well. The heavy rainfall in the region makes the landscape look even more beautiful with colorful flowers and lush green forests all around. Avoid going on boat safaris during this season as it could be quite dangerous with the rains flooding the river. If you don’t mind the rain, this is the second best season to visit National Chambal Sanctuary.
