The summer season is considered to be one of the toughest times in India and therefore Palitana also has hot summers. The season begins from the end of March and continuous till June. March and April are still better and you can visit Palitana in these months of summer. But by the end of April, things start to become a little difficult and the temperature reaches its peak in May and at the start of June. In these two months, visiting Palitana is not recommended because of tough conditions as the temperature can sore up to 42 °C with high humidity. Therefore, sightseeing becomes difficult.

Monsoon (July - October)

Palitana receives rainfall through the south-west monsoon. The quite-a-pleasant season generally starts from the end of June and lasts till September. The city, however, doesn’t receive that heavy rainfall except for July and August. The rainfall helps in getting the temperature down and makes life a little better for locals and tourists. The city becomes more attractive in these months and some of the places offer a heavenly feeling. So check the weather forecast before you plan a trip during monsoon to avoid inconvenience.

Winter (November - February)

The monsoon gets over completely by the first week of October and the winter slowly begins to set in. By the time October ends and November begins, the city gets ready to welcome the most beautiful time of the year, the winter season. This pleasant season spans until the end of February and early March. With a cool breeze in the morning, the slight warmth of the sun in the afternoon, and the early setting of the day with a fall in temperature in the evening can make anybody’s stay a pleasant one.
