Summers in Raipur start in the month of March and stay till the end of June and this is the hottest time of the year in this city. Temperatures during this time range from a soaring 42°C in the daytime to a moderate 35°C in the night, making it a little cooler. During peak months like May and June, temperatures rise even further up to 48°C, which is quite unbearable, especially for someone who is not suited to this kind of heat. Throughout these summer months, the humidity is quite high and is around 30%-40%, that means you will perspire a lot. The heat in these months makes it quite difficult to go sightseeing. Although this may not be the best time to visit, if you happen to go to any of the sanctuaries nearby, you can see a lot of wildlife activity.
Monsoon (July-October)

Giving some respite from the scorching heat in the first half of the year, monsoon that comes in during the first week of July, stays all the way until the first week of October. Temperatures during this time range from 32°C in the daytime accompanied by pleasant weather and winds and go down to 25°C in the night, making it nice and cool. Raipur receives moderate average rainfall of 1300 mm every year and one can also witness thunderstorms during this time. Humidity in this season is high and goes up to 60%-80%. This is a nice time to visit Raipur as it is not hot and there are some lovely festivals that take place during this time as well; the bull worshipping festival called Pola is celebrated during this time, also Teeja, a festival for married women is celebrated at this time.
Winter (November-February)

The best time to visit Raipur is during winters; this season stretches from the last week of October until the last week of February. Temperatures during this time range from 22°C in the day, with cold winds and fog early mornings to around 12°C in the night, making it very cold. Some winters are tough and temperatures may soar down even further to 8°C.; it is always advisable to check the temperature before leaving anywhere for a trip. The humidity is much lower than the other seasons. This is the best time to explore the city as it is cool and highly pleasant for sightseeing and you wont even get tired. If you are a bird lover, you will also be able to see many migratory birds coming in from other places.
