Summers in Sundarbans like the rest of West Bengal are extremely hot and humid and very uncomfortable. Temperatures tend to soar and ranges between 35°C and 42°C. The feel factor is higher than the temperatures recorded and humidity is extremely high. Heat waves, dearth of water makes Sundarbans an unfavorable tourist destination for these months. Because of the heat tigers too tend to take shade in the high trees making them difficult to spot and which could be dangerous.

Monsoon rains brings much needed relief after the sweltering and sizzling summers. The forests and its inhabitants get life back. Sundarbans experiences heavy rainfall during these months. Temperatures steadily come down and hover between 25° and 35°C. It is considerably cooler and pleasant. While the weather is good for visiting Sundarbans the rivers pose a major problem. As it is the primary mode transportation in the park, tourists have to depend upon them heavily but they overflow with rainwater. It is not considered safe.

After the sweltering heat of the summers and massive downpours of monsoon months, winter sets in. With temperatures further dipping and rains receding, the park once again becomes accessible to tourists. After the rains, the forest and the trees are fresh and in full bloom and is the best time to enjoy the natural beauty of the Sundarbans. The river is once again accessible and no longer considered dangerous. Temperatures tend to range between a comfortable 10°C and 30°C. This makes it easy for tourists to also explore the area by foot without getting exhausted.
