In order to enjoy the beauty of the Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat you must take a boat ride. The boat ride allows you to appreciate the placid waters of the Narmada which pass through the marble rocks. Both are natural beauties, the river and the rocks. These are very old rocks that go back to the prehistoric times. Scientists carrying out research in this area have confirmed the presence of fossils and the eggshells of dinosaurs in this region. Please remember that boat rides are banned during the monsoon season from July to September.

The Chausath Yogini Temple, among the oldest of heritage sites in the country, is dedicated to Durga and her 64 yoginis. The temple is located next to the marble rocks on the banks of the River Narmada, in Bhedaghat. Though the temple is in a state of partial ruins it is still able to glorify the kings who had ruled over Jabalpur at one time. The temple is on top of a hill and you have to climb 150 steps. There are a total of sixty four shrines that have been positioned in a circular pattern for each of the 64 yoginis. There is also the main shrine where the murtis of Parvati and Shiva have been positioned.

Narmada River is among the 5 most revered holy rivers in India. A festival is celebrated over 12 days on the river every 12 years. A large number of devotees come to Bhedaghat to take a dip near Omkareshwar Temple situated on the river banks hoping for salvation and moksha. River Narmada is considered to be the daughter of Lord Shiva.

Kachnar City is a newly developed posh locality of Jabalpur City. There is a statue of Lord Shiva which is 76’ high which is one of the latest attractions here. Built in 2006, the temple has a cavern with Shivalingam models from different parts of the country. There is a statue of Nandi, the bull and the Vaahan of Lord Shiva besides idols of Saptarishi and Lord Ganesha. This temple draws great crowds.

Situated at a height of around 500m on top of Madan Mahal hill, the Madan Mahal Fort is absolutely gorgeous and very intriguing. The fort was built in the 11th century by Madan Singh who was a gond ruler. This had a watch tower and was intended to be a military post. When you come here you will find secret passages and a stable besides war rooms and reservoirs as well as excellent architecture and sculptures that fascinates.
