It used to be a part of the Indus Valley Civilisation, in fact, it was one of the major cities of the civilisation. Lothal dates way back to 2450 BCE. The Harappan excavations here are worth seeing as they have revealed a whole lot of artefacts from that era — from wells to perfectly layered brick walls, drainage and sewage systems to houses with burial grounds. Diu
