Spring is tourist time in Wangdue, so book your accommodations in advance. The pleasant season gives you plenty of oppurtunities to indulge in hiking and visiting the attractions around the district. The average temperature varies from 21°C to 10°C.

From June to August, the rains are here. It is wet, yet warm and windy. Although adventure tourism might be a bother due to the sudden showers and humidity, you can still visit monasteries and other places of interest, armed with an umbrella or a raincoat. Villages at lower altitudes get quite slushy during the rains. Temperature shifts from 21°C to 13°C.

Autumn season from September to November is festival time in Wangdue. The weather is sportive enough to let you gaze at the snowy mountain peaks of the north as the skies are generally clear and cloudless. Autumn is good for treks across the villages where rural folk are busy harvesting their crops. Maximum temperature moves up to 22°C, while the minimum is about 4°C.

Winter season lasts from December to February and winter is a chilly time in Wangdue. If wintry weather and chilly winds are alright with you then you can still go on short treks to photograph the Black Necked Cranes that have landed in Wangdue’s renowned Phobjikha Valley. The coldest month of the year is January. Temperature varies from 13°C to 0.3°C.
