Yelagiri Weather And Best Time To Visit Yelagiri
Planning A Trip To Yelagiri? Here's a snapshot of Yelagiri weather and the best time to visit Yelagiri
Yelagiri has a salubrious climate throughout the year. The weather is predictable with balmy summers and pleasant winters. The hill station is at a lesser altitude compared to the hill stations like Ooty and Kodaikanal, so you could expect a tropical warm weather through the year. Yelagiri provides a respite from the seasons on the plains, and tourists prefer an escapade into the lush green scenery of Yelagiri in winters.
The best months to visit Yelagiri are from December to February.
Summer (March - May)

Though not as sizzling as it is in the plains, Yelagiri is hot in summer and the only saving grace are the nights that are comparatively cooler. The average temperature could go up to 35 °C. The town gets busy during the hot months with the Kodai Vizha or Yelagiri Summer Festival. Tourists generally skip Yelagiri during these months, because it’s still summer up here. If you are visiting Yelagiri in summer, check out the native jackfruits, custard apples and black berries.
Monsoon (June - November)

There might be moderate rains from the southwest monsoon and heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms during the northeast monsoons. The landcape turns lush and vibrant with the rains, but travel and sightseeing might be tricky if you are caught in a downpour. Yet again a non touristy season, but if it’s a weekend holiday getaway you are looking for, choose a clear day for a visit.

The days are warm and nights are cooler. This is the peak tourist period as the weather turns good, cool and breezy, and you can tour around as much as you would want. Some of the idyllic places you could visit in winter are the rose gardens and the Jalagamparai waterfalls, loaded to the brim with the monsoon rains. Nights are rather cold and you might be better off carrying a jacket and woollens. Yercaud promises a number of adventure sports and winter is a good time to try your hand at paragliding or camping.
