The closest airport to Digboi is at Mohanbari, Dibrugarh which is approx. 65km from the town and is best reached by taxi. With the Mohanbari Airport well accessed from Guwahati and other major metros in the country, the best way to reach Digboi is by a flight from New Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru inclusive of relevant transfer options. The airlines operating to and from Guwahati include Indian Airlines, Air India, Indigo, Spicejet and more. If you’re planning to travel from New Delhi, then the fastest way of reaching Digboi is to take a flight to Dibrugarh which takes about 2 hours and 35 minutes in the estimated fare range of INR 4,000-15,000 and then traveling in a cab, which takes another hour.

The closest train station to Digboi is in Tinsukia at 40km from the city and the onward journey can then be made by a taxi or on a bus. From Guwahati, there’s a regular network of trains including two major express trains from New Delhi and another from Kolkata. If you’re to travel from New Delhi, then there’s a train to New Tinsukia once daily, which takes roughly 38 hours and costs about INR 1,100. On arrival at Tinsukia, its just ½ hour’s drive to Digboi by taxi.

With the National Highway 38 connecting Digboi to all the major cities and towns in Assam, commuting by road is another alternative for visitors to the town. There are buses operated by Assam State Transport Corporation with a large number of air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses, in addition to special minibusses for travel to hilly regions. From Guwahati, it takes about 10 hours to travel by bus to Tinsukia and then another ½ hour by taxi to Digboi. While from Dibrugarh, it’s about an hour’s drive and 80km to Digboi.

There are plenty of options to get around in the town, ranging from trains, buses, cabs to private taxis. These options are always preferred over others by most tourists within Digboi. Buses from other states don’t really have a direct connection to Digboi, but you can board a bus from Guwahati or Dibrugarh and then avail local transportation from there to Digboi. One of the main commuting options in Digboi is a Rickshaw.
