The closest airport to the city is the Federico Garcia Lorca-Jaen or Granada Airport, situated 15 km away. This is the best and most popular way for international visitors to get into the city. Being a slightly smaller airport, the number of daily flights to and from most of the significant Spanish cities as well as international destinations is limited. However, there are daily flights to and from Madrid. The Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport in Malaga is largest in size situated close to Granada, only 134 km away.

There are several budget and luxury bus options linking the city to majority of the significant neighbouring cities as well other European countries like Italy and Portugal. ALSA and Supra luxury bus services are some of the most popular options that visitors tend to opt for. Additionally, bus tickets are made available through both online and offline platforms.

Avenida de Andaluces is Granada’s central station, located in the heart of the city. Although busses are the preferred medium for local travel, travel via train is also extremely scenic and enjoyable. The station is well-connected to majority of the significant cities in and around Granada. From the station there are private and public, bus and taxi options for visitors to choose from.

Walking is the most basic but nonetheless enjoyable way to explore the city. However, the hilly terrain means distances between locations can be quite long, but there are trekking and walking paths that can be planned in advance.
