How To Reach Hoi An
Planning A Trip To Hoi An? Here are some guidelines on how to reach Hoi An
Hoi An Town is a well-looked after and dynamic model of a Southeast Asian trading harbour. Its structures and planning are the reflection of a mixture of local and foreign design styles. Hoi An does not have its own airport or railway station. Hence, the only way to get there directly is via road. The adjacent city of Da Nang has both a railway station and airport that are not too far away from Hoi An and are efficiently connected to most of the other important Vietnamese cities. To get around locally there are cycle, motorbike and taxi services that can be used to get in and around the ancient town of Hoi An.

Unfortunately Hoi An doesn't have any airport of its own. Hence, visitors will be required to land at Da Nang Airport, some 30 km away, and take a taxi or bus to get to Hoi An. The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour. However, it is important to note that despite being the airport closest to Hoi An, the Dan Nang Airport has a highly limited international flight frequency. Most visitors actually prefer flying to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City instead. International visitors can get a Visa On Arrival at any of these airports if required.

Another one of the best ways to reach Hoi An for tourists is via the bus and private taxi services available from most of the nearby stations and airports. There are daily private and public busses going back and forth from Hoi An. The high frequency makes it ideal for foreign visitors looking to explore the sights and sounds of Hoi An. For visitors staying at hotels, the staff can organize for pickups from the hotel itself. Additionally, there are also overnight bus options for people travelling from far off destinations in Vientam.

With no station of its own, visitors looking to get to Ho An will have to get off at the Da Nang Railway Station, approximately 50 minutes (30 km) away. There are multiple bus, taxi and private car options for visitors to pick from. Additionally, this is one of the best ways to reach due to the high frequency of trains from majority of the other significant cities in and around Vietnam. The Da Nang Station is massive in size, with a number of different facilities to help ensure visitors can make a smooth transition to Hoi An.
