The nearest airport to Hospet is the Jindal Vidyanagar Airport at Toranganallu, about 36 km from the town. Vidyanagar Airport serves domestic flights from Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The nearest major Airport is the Hubli Airport that has flight connectivity with Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and Cochin. Hubli Airport is about 155 km from Hospet. You can book a cab from the Jindal Vidyanagar airport to your destination.

By Train

There are trains from Vijayawada, Hubli, Hyderabad, Tirupathi, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Mysuru that halt at Hospet Railway Junction. From the rail station, you can hire an auto rickshaw to your destination. There is a bus stand near the railway station wherefrom you can board a bus to Hospet’s main bus terminus.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses ply to Hospet from cities like Bengaluru, Gokarna, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Mysore. Tourist taxis could also be booked for a one way trip to Hospet from any of these cities including Bellary. You could also drive to Hospet even from cities like Hyderabad (about 395 km), Goa(307 km) or Bengaluru(330 km) too.

The KSRTC’s JSW Vijayanagar Bus Terminal serves route buses to various localities of the city, neighbouring districts and to tourist spots like Hampi and Tungabadra Dam. The Terminal is about 1.5 km from the Hospet Railway Station. Otherwise, the best way to go sightseeing round the city is to hire a taxi. You could also make use of auto rickshaws to get around.
