Kinnaur receives considerable rainfall during monsoon and it is advisable not to plan any trips during these months. Landslides and cloudbursts are common, which creates mayhem in the region. The roads too are in poor condition which impedes travelling. The apple season also begins in the month of August, which causes massive traffic jam. Apples get loaded on to trucks for transportation and this makes the roads quite chaotic. Monsoon is not recommended at all, unless you are happy to sit in your hotels and enjoy the drizzle.
