Visit the Tungnath Temple

Officially the highest Shiva Temple in the world, Tungnath Temple can be found 3680 meters above sea-level. It is said to be almost a 1000 years old and is called one of the Panch Kedars. The temple was inspired by the North Indian style of design and has approximately a dozen shrines surrounding it. Rudranath Mandir is a rock temple that can be found close to Chopta village. Forming a part of the Panch Kedars, Lord Shiva is revered as Neelkanth here. The famous Vaitrani River, famously called the 'Water of Salvation' drifts behind the Rudranath Temple. The temple is also home to the Tarakund and the Suryakund. This is a great spot for visitors to enjoy some peace and meditation amidst a beautiful backdrop. The Anusuya Devi Temple can be visited nearby.
Meditation at Kalpeshwar Mandir

Kalpeshwar Temple is frequently visited throughout the year to worship Lord Shiva as 'Jatadhar.' Found at a height of 2000 m above sea-level, this is the only temple that remains open throughout the year. This is an ideal spot for meditation and to take in the surrounding natural beauty. The trek to the mandir is approximately 10 km from Chopta and leads visitors into the Urgam Valley.
