The city of Hue was historically created in dedication to the legendary Nguyen Dynasty which ruled over for decades. One the most iconic places to visit are the tombs of these emperors, located on the banks of the Perfume River. Emperor Khai Dinh, strategically built his own tomb so that it would be difficult to locate. Additionally, the design of the tomb incorporates a strong European influence and is a must visit spot for design lovers.

The Thanh Toan Bridge

One of Hue’s star attractions, this footbridge was created back in the 18th century and its key features draw inspiration from both Japanese and Chinese architectural styles. It can be found nearly 8 km outside of the ancient city and its design makes it one of the rare and unique bridges of its kind. A roof-tiled bridge, it draws admirers from far and wide who come to observe and understand the rich history behind its creation.

Bach Ma National Park

Located 1450 meters above sea-level, the national park can be found at the base of the mountains of the same name. This park is famed for its biodiversity and a diverse variety of ecosystems make it one of the best places to visit. There are numerous small and large scale waterfalls, stunning flora and historic villas that were built during the French Colonization era centuries ago. It has a unique landscape that is not to be missed, especially for nature lovers.

Elephant Springs

This natural wonder can be found in between Hue and Danang, about 17 km away from the Hai Van Pass. There are natural springs and ponds here, which visitors can visit to cool off and enjoy the surrounding scenic countryside. The surrounding rocks are shaped like an elephant’s head, hence the name. Additionally there are a number of natural water falls here which visitors can observe and bathe in. This is a fun place to visit for young families and couples alike.
