The best and most convenient way to reach Braga, especially for international travellers is to fly to the nearest airport in Porto and then use any of the taxi, train or bus transfer options to get into the city. Having no domestic aiport of its own, this is the only way to reach Braga. The airport is extremely well-connected to majority of the significant cities in and around Europe and other parts of the world. Located about 55 km away from Porto, one of the most popular and efficient forms of local travel is via Portugal's expert network of roadways. Porto has several public and private taxi and bus transfer options to get to Braga. The Rede Expressos national bus service has several daily options to take visitors to Braga locally and tickets can be purchased online or in person and journey takes approximately 45 minutes.

Another one of the best and quickest ways to get to Braga is via rail. Braga Railway Station is well-connected to majority of the significant cities in and around Portugal like Coimbra, Porto and Lisbon and even other parts of Europe. The station was renovated and modernized back in 2004 and is a state of the art facility. It is a marginally more expensive option compared to the bus tickets. However, the journey time is reduced so it makes for a more comfortable trip.
