The town of Ranakpur is located in the valley in the western side of the Aravali, making it one of the more picturesque places in the state of Rajasthan. Ranakpur is well connected with the rest of the state and major destinations in India. Falling on the route between Jodhpur and Udaipur, it is quite easy to reach. While one can reach Ranakpur via air, rail and road, the best way to get here is to take a flight to the Udaipur airport and hire a taxi from there.

While Ranakpur does not have its own airport, the closest airport lies in the city of Udaipur at around 106 km away. The Udaipur airport also known as the Maharana Pratap Airport connects regular flights to many major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Jaipur. On arriving at the airport, visitors can hire taxis from here to get to Ranakpur.

Ranakpur is not yet equipped with a railway station of its own. The closest railhead to Ranakpur lies in the town of Falna in the Pali district. The Falna Railway station is the main station in the district and it lies about 35 km away from Ranakpur. The Falna station has trains coming in from several destinations across the country and makes accessing Ranakpur all the more easy. With trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun and Jammu, Falna can be reached from an array of destinations. On reaching the station, visitors hire taxis to reach Ranakpur, which takes about an hour.

Lying on the state highway, between Udaipur and Jodhpur, two major cities in Rajasthan, Ranakpur can be quite easily accessed via road. Located in the valley of the Aravali, travelling to Ranakpur is part of the fun. The route to Ranakpur is very scenic and can be quite exciting as one passes through the Aravali and the beautiful landscapes of Rajasthan. Ranakpur is situated at about 360 km from the state capital Jaipur and about 615 km from the national capital New Delhi. There are also bus services to the town of Ranakpur. Buses from Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Indore ply to and fro on a daily basis with nominal prices. There are taxi services from all major cities in the region and prices can vary depending on the place of origin and the type of service.
