Khajuraho is located in MP in a region known as Bundelkhand. This place is now famous for its beautiful temples that were built during the reign of the Chandela Kings between 900 AD and 1130 AD. Though a large number of temples do not exist now, the ones that do remain are very beautifully carved. Khajuraho is today a UNESCO heritage site. The weather in Khajuraho is typically subtropical. The best time to visit Khajuraho is during winter which is between October and February. However, the monsoon period is also pleasant. The month of February is important since that is when the International Dance Festival is held and visitors tend to combine the visit so as to cover the tourism aspect with attending the Dance Festival.

Winter is a wonderful time to spend in Khajuraho especially for the tourists. Temples are all out in the open and it can get quite uncomfortable during the hotter months when one has to see at least ten temples within a short period of time. However, during winter the temperature could drop to a low 4°C. But, again, the post lunch session is pleasant since the winter sun is sluggish in Khajuraho in the afternoon. February is a special month as already discussed. So do plan your dates with care.
