The weather in the Peloponnese fluctuates quite a bit but is pleasant almost throughout the year. The weather is similar to the rest of Greece where the warmest months are the summer months of between June and August and coldest between December and February. The best time to visit the Peloponnese would be between April and October, depending on what type of weather you enjoy most.
Spring (March to May)

The weather in spring is pleasant with temperatures averaging around 15°C in March to 25°C in May. Rain can be expected for 5 to 7 days per month. From April onwards the good weather and moderate climate are what attract tourists from all over the world and it is the 2nd busiest tourist season after the summer. Greek Independence day is celebrated in a big way in Kalamata, on the 25th of March every year.
Summer (June to August)

Warm sunny days are what make the summer season so enjoyable for tourists. Temperatures average 26°C with very slight chances of rain. It is high-season with tourists and tourist spots can get quite crowded during these months. Some awesome festivals take place during the summer months where you can expect a lot of dramas, concerts and dance performances. The Epidaurus Greek Festival, the classical music festival of Nafplio and the festival of Argos-Mycenae take place between June and August.
Autumn (September to November)

The beautiful months of fall are not too popular with tourists as cloudy weather can dampen spirits. But the weather is still great with an average temperature of 23°C coming down to 15°C by November. In fact, the hilly terrain of The Peloponnese is best explored during these months as hiking is easier due to cooler weather. An exciting sporting festival is held during the end of September each year called the Spartathlon, which is a 246-kilometre ultramarathon between Athens and Sparta!
Winter (December to February)

For people who love the cold, the Winter months can be quite exciting. The temperature ranges between 9°C and 13°C and it can rain or snow about 8 times in a month. It’s a great time for hiking and walking for hours among the ruins of historical places of Olympia and Mystras. Daylight is a little over 9 hours per day, which isn’t too bad and still gives you some time to explore places. However, many museums and archaeological sites close early during the winter months. The Patras Carnival is held during the months of January and February each year and it’s a fun time to visit the city.
