Spring overall is a lovely time to travel - whether its during Easter holidays for the Western Tourists or the beginning of summer holidays for the Eastern. April and May are one of the best months to travel to Greece and specifically Rhodes, because of its lovely weather and slightly lesser crowded tourist sites. The average temperature ranges between 17°C to 23°C between the 3 months. Flowers are in full bloom, making the island more colourful.

On the last Sunday of May every year, a parade of flowery floats takes place in Madraki. Also, the sound & light show at the Castle starts from April onwards and lasts all the way until October.

Summertime is the best time to vacation on an island, but with sunshine and bikini bodies, comes also hordes of tourists and high prices. July is one of the hottest months of the year while August is the most crowded. The average temperature is 32°C - which makes it perfect for beach activities. Look out for beach parties during the summer!

The Medieval Rose Festival is celebrated every summer and is filled with concerts, plays, exhibitions and other fun events. The International Film Festival (also Rhodes Ecofilms) takes place every June.

One of the best times to visit Rhodes is during the months of September and October. The weather is still pleasant and the crowds are far lesser than they are during the summer months. Also, cheaper accommodation makes it worthwhile. The average temperature is 29°C in September and goes down to 21°C in November. There is still plenty of sunshine with a sparse few days of rain.

Many local festivals featuring traditional dances and outdoor performances take place in September every year.

Most people avoid travelling to islands during the winter because it is too cold to swim. However, because of its historic past, Rhodes has so much more to see and it will keep you busy even without being able to spend your day on its sandy beaches. The average temperature is a chilly 15°C. Don't forget to carry your umbrella if you plan to travel during this season as it will rain.

No cultural events take place during the winter months, apart from Christmas and New Year.
