Kinnaur Kailash

Located at a height of 6500 m above sea level, the Kinnaur Kailash range is one of the most visited and the most mesmerizing attractions of Kalpa. Also known as the mountain of Lord Shiva, the Kinnaur Kailash is visited by hundreds of devotees every year taking a pilgrimage from Morang. These mountain ranges have the most stunning sceneries around it which include quaint villages, lush green orchards, gushing valleys and mountains that are covered in snow most times of the year.

Chaka

Chaka is an attraction that appeals to the adventurer in you. If trekking is something you like to do and want to explore more on foot, then Chaka is the place for you. Situated at a high altitude, the journey from the base all the way up to the top may take 2-3 hours depending on your speed and the number of stops. While on your trek upwards, you will pass through some of the most beautiful water channels like rivers, lakes and springs. The natural beauty of the place is just wonderful, especially early in the morning and worth visiting; but if you are unsure of the path, you may hire a local guide to take you around.

Roghi Village

Blessed with some of the most natural wonders, Roghi is a small village situated at about 8 km from Kalpa. The road from Kalpa to Roghi is a narrow one, which seems dangerous to a lot of travelers, despite which a lot of people visit, to have a look at the beautiful Kinnaur Kailash which is visible from this village. This village is surrounded by beautiful gardens and small village houses, with local inhabitants being very kind and hospitable. The slopy mountains of this village are brimming with apple orchards, apricot and chilgoza trees.

Suicide Point

A place located 3 km from Kalpa, on the way to Roghi village is the Suicide Point. The climb up to this point has vertical slopes that make it quite a dangerous one, but when trekkers reach the spot, they forget the treacherous climb and appreciate the beauty of the place. The enchanting views and the thrill of standing tall amidst the mountains is an experience to have while visiting Kalpa.

Narayan- Nagini Temple

Situated right behind the Kalpa Fort is the serene Narayan- Nagini Temple. This temple which is dedicated to Goddess Durga, is a perfect example of Kinnauri craftsmanship with the architecture of the structure being constructed in Tibetan style. The door at the entrance of the temple has ornate wooden dragons coiled around pillars, along with brass doors that have images of Hindu Gods. The Narayan-Nagini Temple has a golden main door which shines even on the gloomy and cloudy days.

The Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Monastery, founded by Rinchen Zangpo between 950-1055 AD, is an example of Tibetan architecture at its best. The peaceful aura of the place is something that pulls the locals as well as tourists visiting Kalpa. The Monastery has a white coloured stupa in the center and prayer wheels kept in rows. The doors and interiors of the structure are intricately designed and carved. If you want some peace and quiet, this Monastery offers some level of tranquility.

Sapni Fort

Raja Padam Singh of Rampur built the famous Sapni Fort in Kalpa, which is known for its exceptional architecture and beautiful surroundings. The structure is seven storey high, with a Kali temple on the fifth floor that has some of the very best woodwork on the frames of the doors and windows. The Sapni fort is unique with the front portion of the fort being adjacent to the tower of the queen. But, over the years, the fort has weathered due to the rains and the cold weather.
