Jammu Civil Enclave or Jammu airport is located within Jammu city. It is well connected by private and national airlines like IndiGo, Jet Airways, Go Air, Air India etc. with most major cities of the country like Mumbai, Delhi, Srinagar etc. This is a domestic terminal, with New Delhi being the closest International Airport. From Jammu Airport, tourists can easily hire taxis to reach different places within the city and outside as well.

Jammu Tawi is the only Railway Station in Jammu and is one of the major railheads of northern India. It is fairly well connected to most important cities of India like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai Trivandrum etc. Jammu Mail, Jammu Tawi Express, Jammu Rajdhani, Shalimar Express, Malwa Express, Himgiri Express, Jehlum Express, Himsagar Express are some of the major trains that ply between Jammu and rest of the country. During holiday season special trains operate to and from the city. From Jammu Tawi Station, tourists can hire cabs for reaching the city and exploring tourist destinations.

A commendable netweork of highways connect Jammu to the rest of the country. It lies on National Highway 1-A which is referred to as B.C. Road, connecting Punjab in the south with important towns like Jammu and Srinagar before moving upwards to Ladakh. Many tourists choose to drive up to Jammu from neighbouring cities like Chandigarh (345 km), Amritsar (243 km), Delhi (600 km). However one can avail of bus services as well. There are regular buses plying to Jammu from Ambala, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Manali, Shimla, Haridwar etc. These buses are operated by J & K State Road Transportation as well as by the Road Transport Corporations of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chandigarh etc. There are private bus operators who operate Delux and AC buses.

The best way to move around in Jammu and go sightseeing is by hiring tourist taxis that are easily available. They are operated by private tour operators as well as by Tourist Taxi Association. Taxis can also be hired from Tourist Reception Centres, Railway Station and Airport. Apart from taxis, tourists can use mini buses that enjoy good connectivity with most parts of the city. Auto rickshaws are also available for exploring the city and surrounding areas.
