The summer in Bangkok begins in March and goes on until May. This is the hottest time to be in Bangkok, and any rainfall is a welcome surprise. It is not advisable to visit during this period as the temperature rises to a whopping 40 degrees Celsius, making any plans of exploring the city streets during the day an exhausting task. However, if you do end up coming to Bangkok in this season, visit the ‘Trick 3D Museum’ or go Shark diving at the ‘Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World’. The Thai New Year, ‘Songkran’, is another great experience to seek during this time. Keep the heat and humidity at bay at the 3-day long water fight.

Monsoon brings overcast skies and dark clouds, from the month of June all the way till October. September is noted to be the wettest month in Bangkok. Tourists are better off not visiting Bangkok during this time as commuting within the city becomes extremely inconvenient due to flooding which leads to traffic moving at snail’s speed.

However, if you’re looking for an inexpensive trip to Bangkok, this is the perfect time as the heavy downpour forces hotels to slash their prices by almost half. Despite the rains and strong winds many people are seen visiting popular attractions like the Buddhist temples ‘Wat Arun’ also known as the ‘Temple of the Dawn’, ‘Wat Pho’ also known as the ‘Temple of the Reclining Buddha’ and Jim Thompson’s House where one can also collect souvenirs.

Winter (November to February)

From the month of November all the way till February, Bangkok’s temperature drops to a low of 20 degrees Celsius with scarce rains and rare thunderstorms, drawing the attention of tourists and resulting in a sudden hike in hotel prices.

Many come to Bangkok to get away from the harsh winters. This is the most pleasant time to visit this beautiful city as you can stroll through the local markets comfortably, take a Thai Cooking class or simply go on an exciting bicycle tour through the back alleys and lesser-known parts of the city. You can also visit the popular flower market, and nibble on tasty street food.
