Krabi Weather And Best Time To Visit Krabi
Planning A Trip To Krabi? Here's a snapshot of Krabi weather and the best time to visit Krabi
The province of Krabi is one of Thailand’s most precious eggs that had been hidden in its basket for the longest time. In recent years, the place has become a marked tourist attraction and has been in the crosshairs of all kinds of travellers, backpackers as well as luxury hunters. Being situated in the southern part of Thailand, Krabi boasts of 130 islands and lies to the east of Phuket. It is propped in the Andaman Sea and experiences only two major seasons like most of Thailand - one wet and one relatively dry.
To know what weather is the best to visit Krabi and what time is the most ideal for most of the activities, read on.
Dry Season (November- April)

When the rest of the Northern Hemisphere sees winter, Krabi sees a season that is NOT really a very hot, humid and rainy summer. This is called the dry season and is at its best in the peak months of December and January. This time is also the high tourist season and everywhere the crowds spill from nooks and crannies, while rates of accommodation and food and travel rise steeply. With an average range of 24-31°C, there is hardly any rain at this time, with clear skies for most part of a month. January is the driest month and the sunshine is brilliant. All in all, this is the best time weather-wise.
Rainy Season (May- October)

The ‘summer’ season, so to say, in Krabi is all about the heat, humidity and the rain. Again, the average range of temperature is 24-35°C and strong winds may accompany rains in May-June. But by July, these winds die down to make way for clearer skies. Hence July-August is a good time to visit if you wish to avoid rains. September to November again brings an encore of rainfall and many water-sports and other activities take a nosedive. The one great part of visiting Krabi during rainy season is its marked lack of tourist crowd and a little more free space and peace to enjoy. Some deals may also be forthcoming but don’t expect too many discounts as budget travellers, bloggers and backpackers dominate this season.
Since Krabi is promoted as an ‘all-year’ destination, rainy season may really not be that much a novelty factor anymore as people still come to enjoy it from all over.
