Christ Church

Built in 1853 by the British on Mall Road, the Christ Church is the oldest Church in whole of Himachal Pradesh. A non-Gothic architectural delight, the building is simple but rich in its own way. Surrounded by deodar and pine trees, the church is such an incredible place to visit. There is so much of peace and calmness prevailing here that one should spend quality time for a rejuvenation of sorts.
Kasauli Brewery

Another very interesting and must-visit place in Kasauli is the Kasauli Brewery which holds the distinction of being Asia’s oldest distillery for scotch whiskey. It was started by Sir Edward Abraham Dyer in the late 1820s. Once here you must try the Indian Pale Ale or the classic malt whiskey. It is quite unique in taste.
Monkey Point

Monkey or Manki Point is the highest point in Kasauli. According to legends it is believed that Lord Hanuman rested his foot here while he was searching for the medicinal herb that would cure Lord Ram’s younger brother Laxman. There is also a temple dedicated to him that is full of monkeys. As the highest point, you can get quite a panoramic view of the valleys, the snow-capped Himalayas and the distant borders of Sutlej River and Chandigarh.
Gurkha Fort

Located at a height of 4500 ft, the Gurkha Fort dates back to 1900 AD. It was built by Gurkha Army Chief Amar Singh Thapa in order during the Anglo-Nepal War to fight against the British. It stands as a symbol of Gurkha valour and bravery. At present the fort is under the control of Indian Army and is used as a training centre for the Gurkha regiment. Visitors can explore the fort and go trekking in the valley close to the fort.
Sunrise Point (Hawa Ghar)

This is a point in Kasauli where tourists gather early in the morning to witness the glorious sunrise. The sun rising from behind the mountains and spreading its warm hues across the valleys is quite a spectacle. It is located at the lower Mall Road.
Sunset Point

Like Sunrise Point, there is a Sunset Point from where one can watch the setting sun bathe the surroundings in golden hues before bidding goodbye for the day. It is quite a stunning view that visitors are treated to and should not be missed.
Barog

This is an exquisite little place located just 17 km from Kasauli. The town is straight out of those beautiful Ruskin Bond books that we have grown up reading. With lofty deodar and pine trees adorning the place, Barog takes your breath away. Some of the major attractions of the town are Choor Chandni Peak Barog Camping Grounds, Dolanji Bon Monastery, Graveyard of Barog, Suketi Fossil Park etc. It has gained popularity for the toy train that runs from Dharampur to Barog and back. This ride is ethereal.
The Mall Road

Like the Mall Roads in Shimla, Darjeeling, Mussoorie and Nainital, the Mall Road in Kasauli is the most happening place. Filled with shops, eateries and restaurants, Mall Road is lively and fun. It is the place from where you can pick up your souvenirs or drop in at a Tibetan eatery to try those tasty dumplings or simply stroll down to feel the pulse of the place.
